22.5.21 - Intimate wedding during the pandemic
The past year was hard for so many couples who were looking to tie the knot in a loving celebration. Some couples postponed and still do, others decided to crown their love in an intimate ambience. What they didn’t expect is that they loved it more than a larger wedding! They got to tailor their vision to reflect their own characters and share it with the people who matter the most. Such was our couple, Stephanie and Jacob who after postponing twice, they decided to turn to what matters the most to them and host an intimate wedding with only 14 guests. Even though there were high government restrictions, it was one of the most beautiful and sentimental weddings we have ever captured.
What is special when it comes to intimate weddings is the unparalleled candid emotion that graces the hearts of all present. The day started with bridal preparations at the family cottage that were filled with the most wonderful heartwarming emotions. Stephanie even did a first look with her stepfather and bridesmaids which utterly melted our hearts. Jacob on the other hand got ready at his friend’s house with his groomsmen and their adorable dog! It was truly an honour to portray these lovely moments, filled with heartfelt laughter and charm!
What gave us all the feels, even more, was their wedding ceremony. They were over the moon to be finally able to say “yes” to one another during such dark times. It became their beacon of light and hope for the future. So many happy tears and joy simply warmed the hearts of everyone present including us. It was also heartbreaking to see several of their family members and friends come outside the church to catch a glimpse because the restrictions didn’t allow more, but at the same time, it was wonderful to feel how many were happy about their new chapter in life.
The ceremony was hosted in a beautiful church in which Jacob’s parents also got married 40 years ago. Sadly his mum had passed away from cancer 7 years ago so it was a lovely way to honour her memory. After this truly emotional crowning of their union, we all went to lay flowers on her grave. We were touched when they also asked us to recreate two photos from Jacob’s parents’ wedding day.
After this memorable intimate wedding, they all went to a restaurant in Bristol to celebrate with prosecco. Glad to say that they will have a larger reception in August to finally have the opportunity to share their happiness with a wider circle of family and friends!
